Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Its base a conformable contact marked by gray white and gray yellow conglomerate is distinguished from brown red silty mudstone of the underlying Majiacun Fm.
Upper contact
Its top is not observed.
Regional extent
The formation occurs in NW direction in Xixia, Xichuan, Liguanqiao and Liuquanpu of Zhenping of west Henan. It varies considerably in lithology. In the Xixia basin, it increases in the amount of conglomerate and decreases in the amount of siltstone and mudstone from east to west, and varies considerably in thickness (600-50 m). In Xixia it yields sporopollen grains such as Schizaeoisporites sp., Lygodiumsporites sp., Translucencipollis striatus, and richly bears amber ores. It is assigned to Late Cretaceous in this lexicon.
